Today, many of our people are involving themselves to drug addiction and drug abuse. Teenagers, nowadays, are mostly the victim of this drug abuse. School youth ranging from 13 to 15 years old today have already tried using a variety of addictive drugs. This drugs that they are abusing were meant for medical purposes. However, they use it for some other purposes, specifically, as a means to escape their emotional and physical pain, for recreation, and as an instrument to commit crimes. Government today is facing a huge problem about crimes related to addiction and abuse of different kinds of drugs. A number of the most abused drugs today are those that possess effects like sedative, anxiolytic, and muscle relaxant. One of many brands that possess these characteristics is Valium.
History:
Valium is one of the many brand names of a drug called Diazepam; the drug originally came from the class of Benzodiazepine. The drug was named after the Latin word Valium, which means "to be strong and well." In the decade of the 1960's, this drug became known to many. Valium was said to be a miracle drug that can treat many problems of women. It was first introduced by Roche Holding AG Company in the year 1963. The drug, after its release, came to attract many women because of its helpful effects to women’s problems. Soon after, the drug was known to many as "Mother's Little Helpers." By the year after, the distribution of Valium became widespread. That time, Valium was said to have sales that reached over a billion dollars. In the history of prescription medication, Valium was said to be the first to reach this sky-rocketing sales; it has been prescribed to 59.3 million patients worldwide. Because of Valium, the Swiss drug company, Roche Holding AG Company, became famous and established a reputation in the psychotropic medication field. Over the long years of its fame, Valium wasn't believed to be an addictive drug. However, in the year 1975, reports of addiction and abuse of Valium had spread and alarmed many places in the world. Soon after, Hoffman-LaRoche was accused of failing to adequately warn physicians and patients of the risk of dependency and ignoring early warnings of serious Valium complications.

Rehabilitation to Valium:
Valium addiction, though very dangerous, can be treated. One of many ways to treat Valium addiction and abuse is the very popular process called detoxification. A process wherein the patient's intoxication is being removed through the use of another drug, that is milder but of similar chemical content as the drug being abused. The process of Detoxification is offered by many rehab centers today, including the Malibu Horizon. This treatment allows the patient to minimize the fatal withdrawal effects caused by the drug being abused. Some of the experts today describe Detoxification as a very comfortable way of getting treated. It allows the patient to live a normal life while going through the process of treatment.
