The process of admitting into Malibu Horizon's treatment program starts with a phone call. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is here to answer your questions about our treatment services and how our program can benefit you.

Admission and Pre-Admission An initial phone assessment is conducted with all prospective clients. The pre-admission assessment helps the treatment team determine if detox or residential treatment is needed, and in assigning a private doctoral level therapist. Upon admission you will receive a comprehensive assessment based on past history and present level of function including a Bio- Psyche- Social assessment, psychiatric evaluation, medical evaluation, history, physical, self assessments and other assessments which allow the treatment team to obtain information vital to creating a personalized, nutritional, therapeutic and medical treatment plan.

Financial Arrangements

The cost of Malibu Horizon's treatment program is private pay, health insurance, credit card or financing. Call to discuss all the financial options and length of stay.

Length of Stay

The length of stay at Malibu Horizon is individualized so we can properly address the needs of each client.

Transportation

Clients arriving from out of area can be picked up from Burbank or Los Angeles International Airport. Malibu Horizon will arrange to have a driver meet each client at baggage claim and to ensures safe transportation directly to our facility and back to the airport, upon completion of treatment. (Transportation is No Charge to Clients arriving between 9-5PM Monday-Saturday).

What to Bring

• Jeans, casual slacks, sport shirts, skirts, jogging suits, shorts such as Bermuda/walking shorts.

• Undergarments

• Lightweight jackets and sweaters are recommended for evening wear

• Walking Shoes and Sandals

• Personal toiletries

• Insurance card

• Prescription card

• Prescribed medication in its original, labeled container

• Cell phones, lap tops and I-pod (optional)

• Documentation of a TB test within the past 6 months or we'll run a TB screen once you arrive

• Cell phone charger

Non Liability for Professional Services

All patients and their doctors have individual treatment agreements for services rendered. All doctors of medicine furnishings services to clients at Malibu Horizon are independent consultants, not employees or agents.
